MzVee gives glory to God
Not many are fortunate to have a successful career with many awards to
show within a few years. But that is the story of female dancehall
artiste, MzVee. In less than three years as a solo artiste, she has won
many awards and keeps rising.Just a year after releasing her debut Borkorborkor song in 2015, she
won the Discovery of the Year and Best Reggae/Dancehall song of the year
at last year’s Ghana Music Awards. She was also the recipient of the
Best Female Vocalist of the Year at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music
Awards. And the Natural Girl hitmaker sums up her “feelings” to God in her latest song titled, Glory to God.A reggae piece recorded by Beats Dakay, Mzvee talks about her
appreciation to God and how far He has brought her. She talks about how
God has delivered her from the works of her enemies and favoured her to
rise above the storms that many encounter on their rise to fame. With a groovy beat, the student of the Ghana Telecom University College
raggas about how she won’t cease giving glory to God for “favouring me
among the lot”.“It hasn’t been an easy journey on a truthful note, God has been good
to me. Many people started long before I ever dreamt of charting this
path but I can boast of awards and many international nominations as
well.“I think it’s not by my might but the handiwork of God that I have
reached this height of my career,” she told Showbiz on Tuesday. She made history in music circles as the first Ghanaian female artiste
when she was nominated in the Best Africa Act category at this year’s
Bet Awards and the Abofra artiste has earned yet another spot in the
Best Female Artiste at the MTVMAMA 2016 which was announced last week. Born Vera Hameno-Kpeda, MzVee, was a member of the defunct trio, D3
Girls group. The group released the Good Girls Gone Bad and other songs
before they split up.In 2014, MzVee started a solo career and got attention with her debut
song titled, Borkorborkor. She went on to release other songs such as
Natural Girl, Hold Me Now, Abofra.
